I've got some kind of micro switch problem going on with my drivers door on my 996. Basically once you lock it and then unlock you can only open the door from the inside. However once opened from the inside once, you can then open it with the outside handle until it's locked and unlocked again.[]

Does anyone have any good recomendations for someone/where where I can get this fixed without being fleased?

Thanks

Sounds like the lock is gubbed, a very common problem on the 996s. Either that or i needs a bit of lube possibly. Stuart at SP Autobahn in Stirling would be my recommendation.

Does it still unlock manually from the outside using the key? If so it sounds like the solenoid is sticking when being asked to unlock.

It might be worth removing the door card (not a big job) and spraying the solenoid with WD40 and seeing if it frees off.

To be honest this shouldn't be a big job to fix - any mechanic worth his sort will be able to correct this and a porsche specialist isn't needed, so find someone trustworthy local and I'm sure they'll do it no problem.
