Nowell and Richards have always been good - also try Lancasters both currently have my business and have done for some time!

John

What is also important to me is that when I want to commincate with them I will be doing so with someone based in the UK who has an excellent command of English - Not some Wally in a far away place in a call center!

I have just switched to Ann Manning, good price and the staff were friendly and helpful.

They were a reasonable amount cheaper than my renewel notice from my previous broker so didn't bother shopping around.

Just renewed 993 1994 standard C2, 5000 limited mileage PA, agreed value, Uk/Euro recovery and non competative track days included, £100 excess, must be garaged & CAT1 £389, no no claims required as its classed as a classic policy. R&H as advertised in the Porsche Post.

I used Hagerty International, who do the policy with Allianz. 5000 miles PA. £200 excess and agreed value. Tracker not asked for. No NCD they do not take into account with this policy. In the future they will give a confirmation that a NCD exists, if indeed it does. Also repair at a garage of my choice and continenatl travel. Cost £529. No points and I live in Essex. They did require a number of photographs, including one showing car in the garage, for the agreed value.

Just as an added comment the cost was very similar to my renewal quotation from RAC, my previous insurer, with exactly the same conditions but RAC would not do an agreed value and having had a car stolen some years ago I know from experience that creates a considerable loss.

My wife persuaded me to move last year to M & S (her insurers) after a quote for £595 all in. Wish I hadn't - renewal this year (year 2) was £3850 !!!!!!!! . I have 5years + no claims locked garage at my house alarms etc, clean licence etc. They couldn't have cared less, a real dissapointment.

Luckily my original insurer still had all my details on file and immediately quoted £472 so I will be back with them - Specialist Car Insurance - after Xmas and will not be tempted away in future.

ClassicLine cost me £445 this year and includes free PCGB track day cover.

Pretty amazing as I rang around 20 other places all of which were over £800.

ClassicLine cost me 430 or 460 with the missus added. 5k/year and garaged. Bargain considering our ability to crash every other day.

LeoSayer & ubertub, I've got to say thanks to you both. I got my quotes down to about £460 (thanks to the other folks above). Then phone Classicline...£324, superb!! 1500 miles PA, agreed value 23.5K, must be garaged (will be).

Thank you for your help, you've saved me the cost of the bits for the car's next service (or thereabout), which happens to be due now! :p

We have our Defender insured with NFU mutual - £250 per annum fully comp.

The 993 is £450 with Footman James - with all the bells and whistles, including the light of my life and her points collection.

Is it just me, or have Porsche insurance costs dropped like a stone over the last couple of years ??

For years and years I used to pay over £700.

Mark - maybe you've reached a certain age that means cheaper car insurance![8D]

No, I am 43, so I don't suppose that is a special age. 'Tis true that I no longer drive like a 19 year old though. I did move to a different postcode ???? Maybe that was it.

I have always used Manning`s, £463 for the 993tt, very reasonable and not that much more than it was for the 993C2.

Mark, my insurance has dropped significantly over the last 2 years too - no change in address, drivers, points, significant age "milestones" etc. Perhaps 993 drivers are now considered to look after their cars more!?!

For the record I am with Ann Manning but have no agreed value - I might try for one this year.

Another vote for A Manning. £520, 3000 mile pa policy, no tracker, free track days included. Beat any other quote for me by nearly £50 and the others usually had no or limited track days or massive excesses.

Norwhich Union via AON. £412 with the following configuration:

Me and wife as drivers (me primary)
Both clean licenses and no convictions (pending or otherwise)
Protected no claims
Both over 40 (but of course look half our ages[:)])
9 years no claims (protected)
Max annual mileage of 8,000
