Anyone got Connect / Connect+ on their 718?

Hi guys,

My spec locks down on the 31st March and I'm struggling to decide on final spec.

At the moment I'm mulling over Connect / Connect+. I thought I would need Connect+ for traffic information if I specced the SatNav module but after speaking to my local OPC they've said it doesn't, it can redirect you if there are traffic jams.

So now I'm wondering if Connect+ is worth speccing at all. Has anyone here got it, if so do you think it's worth it. Has anyone else specced the SatNav without it?

As I can play my music via bluetooth I'm not bothered about Spotify or anything like that, is there anything else that could be useful?

I wasn't even going to spec the SatNav module originally and just go with Connect and use Apple CarPlay for maps but since the MY18 spec now has nav and Connect+ as standard I thought I'd add it for future resale values.

Thanks,
Richard.

Have you not answered your own question ?

... or is it that the Sat Nav etc. is an option to Standard spec ?

Nav and connect plus are now standard fit on any cars ordered or locked down now I thought. Unless you have a guarantee of a price pre price increase that does not include the above

i would be tempted to add them both and avoid the price hike of the 2018 model as yours will be so close to the cutover. E.g add nav and connect plus on top of your 2017 price vehicle

The nav and Connect+ is standard on the MY18 cars, and my lockdown spec and price are for the MY17 car so nav isn't standard.

As as I wasn't going to order nav in the first place I'm not sure it's worth it. I've specked Connect so I could just use the maps on apple carplay (just not sure if the traffic is part of apple maps).

I would spec the Sat Nav and Connect + if I were you Fergusor.

I have both on my 718 CS PDK and it will certainly be a factor for the next buyer when your car eventually goes back to market.

I couldn't rely on the mobile phone signal being consistent enough through the UK on the roads I use to rely on Bluetooth reception.

It's up to you to decide.

Brian
