Anyone got theirs yet?

Having finally seen a 991 on the road, I wondered if anyone had collected their car yet??
Interested to hear how the real world is treating it?

Get mine this morning.

Relieved I didn't get PDCC after reading today's Evo.

Evo rate GTR higher

Just sold my 2011 GTR. Fabulously fast but tyre noise and lousy ride detract from long term relationship.

Nice day to be collecting... [:D]
Plenty of pictures to follow hopefully..

I've had a little bit of a falling out with the local salesteam after I said I didn't want a test drive...
That was on the day I read the EVO magazine- so I may have been a bit blunt on my reasoning []

so the 991 a soft ride?

Ride is very good for a sports car.

I reckon 991 sport setting similar to comfort setting in GTR.

The more I drive it the more I like it.

I waS in my local Nissan dealership when a 997 Turbo driver came in and px'd for a GTR ...

What were you doing in a N****n showroom?[]

Looking at their GTR .... took it for a spin, think I would need the Middlehurst Exhaust so I could hear it!

Thanks for the welcome. My car is Racing Yellow with black leather, PDLS, Carrera S wheels in black, sport chrono, PSE, rear park assist, folding mirrors, cruise, BOSE, Sport Design steering wheel. heated seats, light package, yellow belts, wheel spacers, electric sports seats, PCM with phone prep and power steering plus. I had the brake calipers repainted in racing yellow as the standard red clashed with the bodywork and I didn't want CCB's. I also had the black stoneguards from the 997 speedster fitted.

In terms of feedback I am very pleased with the car and happy I went with the manual. It feels like a slightly less notchy version of the short shift kit I had on my 997.1 turbo with a fairly short throw. The shift lever falls easily to hand and the clutch is nicely weighted and the ratios seem pretty well spaced. There is plenty of space in the footwell on RHD cars with a nicely placed foot rest for your left foot. I feel more involved in driving the car with the manual box compared to the test drive I had of the PDK demo car. The PDK is great for a car being used as a higher miles daily driver and I would have selected that option had that been what I wanted to use the car for. We've had a couple of PDK equipped Boxster S models and I've just bought a Cayman R for my other half with the PDK option which she loves.

I think the negative reviews of the manual probably centre around the tight spacing of the 7 gears across the gate. It takes a little time to become familiar with it but once you do it's fairly easy. The ratios are quite widely spaced so I never felt like I needed to shift from 4th to 7th which some testers have commented on and criticised as it can't be done due to the lock out feature which only allows you to go from 5th or 6th in 7th. You still have a gear display on the rev counter which shows which gear you've just engaged plus a gear selector suggestion feature on the multi function display which suggests the optimum gear for economy.

I haven't taken any decent photo's as yet so apologies for the quality of some hastily taken shots.

Great looking car! The colours really work!

The new Carrera S wheel. Is it an enlarged version of the Boxster Spyder wheel?
In black they look identical to mine. Just curious.

Yes, the Carrera S wheel is just a 20" version of the Boxster spyder wheel.

Just realised that I picked our cars up from the same spot your photo was taken.

It's a small world.[:)]
It is the prime spot in the showroom isn't it. Apparently someone came in wanting to buy mine.

That yellow is eye popping! Wait 'till the summer - the greenfly will love it[:D]
Love your black and yellow details, clever speccing.
