Anyone have their car out today?

We picked our MINI Cooper S this week and just when I thinking "this is amazing, you don't need a 911" I was greeted with a picture perfect winter's day (sunny, dry, cold) so took the 'T' out for a spin (as in 'drive', no not a 911 joke) and it puts a smile on your face like nothing modern can achieve. The Cooper S is pretty amazing car though (BTW managed to return 13mpg on the way back from the dealers [:D])

I drove my RS-engined Targa up to Mid Wales on Saturday & returned in my '72T today - a total round trip of almost 500 miles.

I was out all day yesterday in my 72T making the most of the weather. At last I was able to take my kids in the back as I had seatbelts fitted last week. Needless to say they loved it (although my daughter had the cheek to say she'd like one with a removable roof!)

With a new OPC opening up in my area, and hearing about a possible display of early to late 911 's, to introduce the new 997, I showed a good photo of my 1973 2.4S Targa to a Salesman at the swanky new Showroom, with the offer to make it available on the day. His reaction -- Oh -- is that the one with the roof that comes off ? !!

Glad he is not in the Service Dept.

I went out for a few smiles in the targa yesterday very enjoyable, had a quick burst up to over a ton not on the highway of cause!

Went for a long spin yesterday....gorgeous day and the roads weren't too busy.

But today its lashing rain...so back into the carcoon it goes...

If we have a heavy frost or better still snow . . . I'd love a picture for the magazine . . . so don't forget to take your camera.

I had mine out the other day in the wet . . . fair amount of slide[:)]

Yes ! Perishing in the topless Targa in the Derbyshire Dales -- but the Grouse had a nice fire. The occasional Boxster was tucked up warm with the lid on.
