Removed the carrera rs badge from the engine lid for paint correction work, have a replacement to fit, can anyone measure the distance in mm from bottom edge of lid to bottom edge of carrera rs badge please, thanks guys

Steve

measured to lowest part of the "C" of Carerra and the "S" of RS its 57-58mm (so I think the badge on mine may be slightly misaligned as its nearer to 58 on the "C" and 57 on the "S"!)

Hope this helps

Ellis

From the bottom of the C to the lower edge of the engine cover is 44mm, from the lower edge of the S to the lower edge of the engine cover is 40mm ...

Thanks Chris, its sorted now, also changed the bonnet badge which interestingly is different to the old one,
obviously the same logo but a smooth finish as opposed to the raised letters on the original,
ps Chris, your Carrera RS badge cant be level given the dimensions you posted []

I replaced my badge a few years ago and asked a similar question on the forum...as far as I can see, mine is 60mm above the edge of the engine lid.

Maybe there is a slight difference if you have the M003 or M002 bodykit fitted?

As these cars were slightly more handbuilt than current models, there may be margin of error in there placement.

It was probably a treat for the works drivers to place the RS badge on a 993 after they had done well on track, so in their excited state Stuck or Rohrl may have been a few mm out ?
