Jane Smart

PCGB Member and Party-Girl
I want to get sky + and I got an offer in from sky that if I introduce a friend to get it too, we both get free sky + boxes, so if anyone is thinking about it, please give me a shout as we can both benefit. [;)]

Who is your internet with

If its us you can get a free BTVision Box

dougie - your probably the man to ask - my reception is rubbish - and even after two new areials, i have broadband with bt, sky box? or is there an alternative?

Bumping this thread, I still have not ordered sky + and would like to get it. Been on line and it is normally £150 reduced to £99 and they also want £60 to fit it. I phoned them and they won't budge, so the free sky + does seem like a good thing to be had [;)]

Only thing is, it says invite a "friend" and get it free ( but I don't have any friends [:(] )

Not got an HD TV [:(] and the TV we have there is nothing wrong with, so kinda seems like a waste just to change [;)]

Sorry Scott missed that question somehow

If aeriel reception is that bad probably Sky or freesat is your best option

BT vision get TV picture over aerial but downlaods programs via telephone line

Jane HD TV's are so much cheaper than they used to be

Cheers

I know that Dougie, but I spend more of my life here at the pc than I do at the tv so an HD tv is not on the high list of my priorties, but to record a programme and watch it at my leisure is. Hence the sky +

Hi Jane

Ditch the Sky+ Idea and get yourself a Free ViewBox with Twin Tuner and hard drive recorder,
Allows you to watch one channel while recording another, watch something you have recorded
while recording two channels at the same time. If you have a digital tv you can also record two different
channels while watch what ever you want on your tv.

Big plus is you have no monthly cost to incur as its all fee View.

Very similar to Sky + with a great record of what you have recorded and info on each Recording

Would buy the Topfield 5800 pvr, 250 GB. probably about £199 ish...

Cheers Al

Got the TV engineer coming along today sometime Al, as I did not want sky to wire me up for sky + as they put the wires outside the house and this guy puts them inside.

I will show him your message on here as half these things are double dutch to me.

He is coming today sometime as I said, to put some pyramid thing in so that I can change sky from the comfort of my bed![8D]

Thanks
