Anyone in North London with PSE?

Hasan

New member
Hello All,

I'm considering a PSE for my 996 and wondered if there are any members who live near me that have one fitted so I can hear it.
I'm in Friern Barnet which is near Finchley, but if there's anyone fairly near I would love to just hear one.....

Thanks!
Hasan

Go through the searches for past comments and then take our word for it.

IMO the single most desirable option on a 996.

i live in muswell hill..... but i havent got one... but when u get one no doubt i will hear it coming!!!

Thanks Oliver and Gary,

Yes, it looks like I'll go for one....

Now it's just finding an OPC that will do it for a good price as it seems there is a range of prices charged for them. How strange. I'm at OPC Hatfield on Monday to change the battery so I'll ask them how much they charge.

Hi Hasan,

Based in East London with a 3.4l with an original PSE fitted aftermarket - ie. no switch!

If that helps!

Cheers,

Rob

OK, well I might come round your way one weekend very soon if you're around if that's ok.

What's it like driving at motorway speed?....does it drone inside the cabin?

I was quoted £1835 by OPC Hatfield today (with switch). Apparently all OPC's must charge a standard labour rate of £99 per hour now, so he doubts wether the price variations for fitting PSE's will exist in future.
He also said that PCGB discounts will no longer exist soon too!

I know JZ extremely well, but I have a Porsche extended warranty.
I don't want to invalidate that by getting it fitted somewhere else.

Hasan, you could buy another years warranty with the money you save !!

Dont let them bully you into that one ....................... oh and dont forget that will be plus vat, get quickfit to fit it for you, better still buy the copies off ebay and buy another 2 years warranty !!

Dear Hasan

I got mine fitted by OPC Cambridge i use them for all my serviceing and as my car is over 5 years old i get a 25% discount on the labour cost as well as the good old PCGB 10% discount on parts, i also asked them for an additional discount on the parts and labour and got an even better discount can't remember how much and don't want to think about it for to long as they are expensive. OPC cambridge are very good and treat there clients more like enthusiasts, also if you allow enough time to book it they will lend you a loan car. Go for it they sound great.

Phil

Thanks for the advice Philippe.

Who shall I speak to at OPC Cambridge?....who do you deal with?

Hasan

If you speak to Sharon she is very helpful if not Kieron there the only two guys on the service desk, feel free to mention my name Philippe Jeffery.

Let us know how you get on.

Philippe

Hasan just wondering if you've gone ahead with this as I'm still looking into this myself, if so where did you get it fitted and what price's have you been quoted, i'm based in east London so quite local

Hi there,

Based on Philippe's recommendation, I have booked the car into OPC Cambridge to have it fitted with switch for £1,747 inc Vat, which I think is very good. They are also loaning me a Cayenne whilst it's being done.
I'm having it done on March 20th and getting it back on the 22nd so will give you a report then.

Your alternative is to go to an independent to save on the labour rate, or fit the PSE without the on/off switch which will save you money.

Good luck.
