Thinking of a drive round the Cotswolds - Moreton, Stow area maybe - any good roads, routes that anyone knows of?

Jon

Any of the routes from the last 12 years of Cotswold Rallies have been stunning. Perhaps Geoff could put them all in a book, that would be a great long weekend of driving around the Cotswolds.

Might be worth calling Club office to see if they've any old copies of the maps. All are based around Cornbury House in Moreton-on-Marsh, so ideal for you. [:)]

What type of routes are you after??? driving/scenic?
Where are you starting from/stopping over etc

I can certainly offer a few depending on what you're after..

Gary,

Just a day of driving witha lunch stop over. I'm near Broadway, so started thinking of Fish Hill etc, but was just wondering if there are roads that i've maybe not been on that would be good for a C4s and a couple of bikes?

thanks

Jon

Don't think you can go wrong with Fish hill as a start [8D], to the top, a left and onto Chipping Campden, keep going onto the Mickleton road to Ilmington for a proper bit of driving road [;)]
Through Shipston and head towards Banbury and the bends keep flowing...
or
Alderminster onto Loxley and Charlecote

Pretty way out is snowshill and cut through to the Brailles and Bourton on the water...

good route - went Broadway, Weston sub edge, then Ilmington, some back roads to Shipston then onto Banbury. We then got lost a few times but found a nice fast road to Chipping Norton. From there to Burford, then to Winchcombe via Ford.

Great weather and nice to pit the car against 2 bikes a BMW and Triumph Tiger.

Many thanks for the replies from everyone

cheers

Jon

We know the area around Broadway well, and I'm originally from Worcestershire BUT, what about Herefordshire??? Beautiful county, not too much traffic most of time, could start on West side of Malverns, taking in breath-taking views.Perhaps trip through county to Hay-On-Wye, drive leisurely along Golden Valley road, through to Ross-On-Wye and even taking in Symonds Yat??
Give it a whirl [8D]

Thanks,

that sounds a good one too. I used to holiday around Hay on Wye and so know some of the area - the roads are great round there, just got to watch for the single lanes. I'll keep the welsh trip for next time i think

I was out yesterday through Castle Combe onto Badminton back to Westonbirt to Tetbury onto Cirencester through to Burford back around to Stroud then Dursley & into Olveston (Pub stop then Almondsbury great fun!

We started off looking in garden centers for tree's & sort of got sidelined[:)]
