Many tks I've emailed him again asking for more details. The damage not mentioned in original ad as has already been mentioned. A full check wud need to be carried out but I'm already getting nervous!!!

I had information on it last time it was for sale but I did not go to see it as I wasnt 100% sure about it
Sorry did not keep the paperwork

He seemingly fine for an independant inspection and the car is known to JZM but it's not something they wud get involved with from a sales point of view. Question is if the car checks out and gets a clean bill of health what's it worth with a cat c record?? 1 previous owner apprently

also cat c im assuming doesnt mean written off......

Cat C = Written-off by the insurance company. See info below...

______

To assist the industry and the used car buyer, the Association of British Insurers (ABI) has since 1997 provided the following classification of damage to vehicles that have been deemed an insurance write-off:

o Category A:
Scrap only - this vehicle should have been crushed. It should never reappear on the road and there are no economically salvageable parts. It is of value only for scrap metal - e.g. a totally burnt-out vehicle.

o Category B:
The bodyshell should have been crushed. The vehicle should never reappear on the road, but it can be broken for spare parts plus any residual scrap metal.

o Category C:
Vehicle extensively damaged and insurer has decided not to repair. May be repaired and put back on the road. Has to pass an inspection to be re-registered as damaged repaired.

o Category D:
Vehicle damaged and insurer has decided not to repair. When fixed can be re-registered as damaged repaired.

o Category F:
Vehicle damaged by fire and insurer has decided not to repair. When fixed can be re-registered as damaged repaired.

That's right. I did try and ask them what the value wud be but as they said it's hard to say. It may be more trouble than it's worth

walk away, david, if some thing "appears" to be too cheap theres usually a very good reason, no offence to vendor, but thats what experience tells me, good luck anyway,, regards jason p

Jason I think it makes sense to forget it your right. I got a big Thumbs down from the missus when I mentioned it!!'

If someone can check its owner history then I may be able to help.

The one I know about, you wont be able to verify its mileage and its spent a some time around Berkshire in the 5 -10 year mark.
