...my 924 has suddenly developed a fetish for unplugging the HT leads while I am driving? It's most disconcerting - I fitted new leads last week and its STILL doing it...

Yes I think so,,,
If your HT leads have rubber caps fitting over the spark plugs it could be that they are compressing when you fit them and springing off after a while,
Try a spot of lubricant (Fairy liquid works) allowing them the fit over the plugs easily.

The original Porsche plug leads have a tension spring clip in the bottom which grips the plug end (the part you can screw on or off on the plug) I bet the replacement leads do not have the retaining clip in the plug leeds

This may be a dumb question, but have you or anyone else fitted new plugs just prior to your trouble beginning? If that is the case then it could well be that the threaded ferule has not been removed from the end of the 'plug to expose the threaded section to which sales@rocket.... refers.

John. Does this remind you of both of our ignition box connections doing the same thing in September 2005. I also had the same problem with the engine management system on my Ducati.

In that case I don't still owe you a big favour for sorting my problem out. Is that correct?

I have to say that I would be somewhat embarrassed to accept your generous offer of entry,[:)] although eventually I might take you up on it. [&:] I didn't come on to the Forum to 'win prizes'. [] Take the p**s and have a laugh, yes.[8D][:-][X(] I think next year I will probably be in the right frame of mind to partake of an entry.[;)]

John.
At the time I was distraught. I had just bought a car and it had let me down. I thought that I was looking at huge expense that I frankly couldn't afford but your advice dured the problem at a stroke.
This is the forum, and the Club, at it's best.
Please do not feel embarrased by gratitude.
