hi is anyone out there kinda need some help tonight if poss working away for the next week or so wana find out where to get a haynes manual for my 83 944 so i can do some repairs any feedback would be super

The haynes manual is American which means:

1. It's rubbish - too much liability exposure to include the safety related jobs.

2. It's special order, but Halfrods can get it if you really want it.

You can also get it on the net direct from Haynes..... and Fen is right about the quality of the content, at least compared to their older manuals.

As manuals go it's better than noting, but not much.

Half the manual is either diverting liabillity if something goes wrong or the standard how to repair a small dent and spray a wing.

It's printed on horrible recycled paper and relies much on dark fuzzy photos rather than the good old exploded Aerfix kit drawings of the old manuals.

As I said, better than nothing.

Keep seeing servive/maintenance manuals on cd on e-bay, there are a couple on there at the moment. I thought about getting one myself, but don't know how good they are. Probably full of useful information such as, this is where you find the cigarette lighter etc.
I would be interested to know if anyone has one and found to be any use and worth the eight or so quid?

Sorry theres sort of the same message twice, thought first one didn't upload. And now this a third useless one......

They will be a copy of the official Porsche workshop manuals and the PET parts database. They will be unathourised , pirate copies that someone has burnt onto a CD (many people have these [] ) - the genuine items can be bought for over £300 from places like Gmund books.

The club do have a copy of the workshop manuals, though I dont know how you organise 'borrowing' or photocopying. Call Club Office for further help

944 haynes manual is available from club shop priced at £16.99. we do have them in stock, so can send out next day delivery. ref workshop manuals and photocopying of pages, you will need to email what is required to steve kevlin at the office (motorsport@porscheclubgb.com). steve will then contact you back with the info.
