Anyone replaced their HiFi head unit???

Has anyone ever changed their hifi head unit? I have in my Boxster and it doesn't fit securely into the dash and the metal fixing plate supplied with the radio is too big to fit. The Becker head unit I removed used to fit securely directly into the apperture without any metal fixing plate.

Any ideas????
