I am looking at changing the rear exhaust section as its looking a bit tatty as the tip has gone a bit rotten.
Anyone that has a DANSK one on there turbo, can you tell me

What is the build/quality like.
Is it lighter than the oem, any adea how much
What is the noise difference like, I expect its louder , buut an idea of how much if you can.
An anything else you can think to tell me.

I have DANSK rear boxes on both S2 and Turbo from Bert Gear at Berlyn Services. The build quality is excellent amd the polished SS retains it's gleam after two years. I weighed the turbo one and comapred with the OE original it was half the weight (from memory it was 16kg as opposed to 30kg but dont quote me for exact numbers)

They are a direct replacement for the OE box and IMHO sound just the same and perform just the same - they are not a supposed sports box. The only problem I have ever heard with them is fitment is tight if you have fitted 968 M030 anti roll bars, mine fitted fine.

That sounds like a good enough to me, and the fact you have on two porsches must mean that you are happy with them.
Thanks

We fit Dansk and Dansk sports exhausts to 944's all the time, including the turbo and even send them out around the world via mail order, so they must be good!

Very slightly more rasp to the sports ones than a standard system, especially on non turbo models.

Very good build quality, especially for the price.

I've also recently fit one (Within the last 2 months) and i think its great. Great quallity, it fit in 10 minutes with 0 problems! Also, its quiet while under 2,500rpm (Great for driving out the street in the morning) and as the revs build from there you get a lovely growl, its not blearing out or anything. Its a nice sporty growl... Well, thats what mines sounds like anyway :)

Oh, another thing. When people ask how much it cost i say "What do you think?" and they often say "£300~£400?"

Nah, £140 delivered

I have a Dansk on my S2. Incredible build quality, looks, value for money. Tailpipe design a tidier version of OE. I would recommend to anyone.

If you fit it yourself, make sure you have a new fire-ring gasket ready. Doh!

Not as loud as I thought it would be. It just provides a slightly greater deep rasp above 3000 Rpm.

Don't be too concerned if some do not use the intermediate hangar. There is another thread here detailing this - use the search facility on keyword 'Dansk'.

i also have a dansk exhaust on a 944s.
As stated before it is a very well made exhaust with only a slight noise increase over standard.
Highly recommended.

hmm driving home from Golf today and i heard a ting ting ting ting. Got home and had a look and lol :

So much for my great Dansk!

ORIGINAL: Diver944

That doesn't look anything like my Dansk exhaust (or is that your old one refitted?)

hehe i bet it did look the same before my tailpipe fell off [;)]

How do the tail pipes go on?
