Anyone tried the new Shell V-Power Nitro + fuel ?

I've just been spammed by Shell, telling me about their new fuel.. "...designed to get to work instantly in your engine..." [:D]
... I'd always been under the impression that my current fuel did this too...!

Yes, it's on the way soon, apparently, to replace the current V power!

It's got more Friction Modification Technology - so it must be good![;)] Doesn't say what the RON is so presumably the same as the current V-Power although I did see somewhere it may by 100RON?

More marketing hype - it will be the same calorific value as their other offerings, wont do anything different, Its like washing powder - every year a new improved version is launched - better cleaning, stains out first time - so why do they need to launch another new product next year - and why do aftermarket stain removers still sell?

Personally im waiting for Vpower + nitro + turbo + tiger in your tank before i switch from Tesco

Never mind the snake oil...most of us with older cars are chiefly interested in a fuel with low ethanol content. That's why I'm using V Power at the moment.

Anybody know if it's still 5%?

If you've got nothing better to do you could try to make head or tail of this

I would assume that "Fuel D" in the test is V Power as it's the only 99 RON fuel other than Tesco available in the UK. And yes, the "new" V power is still 5% ethanol, allegedly.[;)]

Interesting- I always use v power cause I'm a fool for all this marketing piffle but seeing these posts did remind me that i had a colleague at work about 4 years ago who ran a 1200 BHP Nissan skyline drag/street featured in a few Japanese car mags. He swore that his team tested all the UK retail fuels and tesco apparently gave them the most (horse pun) power.
Anyway I never believe those skyline boys who's eyes look in different directions at the same time so I carry on supping up the marketing tosh - now where is that nitro plus[:D]?

If I had a pound for every Tesco v Shell thread on the car forums....I could get a few tankfuls![;)] There have been too many scare stories, unfounded or not, around supermarket fuel to keep me away from it. Mine has run very nicely on V power all it's life so will keep it that way too.[:)]

+1

I found with my race car (not a Porsche) and with my previous road car that was a bit tuned......

on various Dyno runs for a few different set ups that Shell V-Power gave greater torque through lower gears and we also know someone at the refinery less than 10 miles from were we live who tests the additives and levels for all the fuels as they arrive to go into tankers, and only Shell fuels contain constant levels as they quote and what they quote, some other fuels don`t contain exactly as they say on the tin so to speak.
I think ill stay with Shell I do notice a difference it sounds weird but not so much in the Boxster atm im still playing with its boundaries but i know its quality and in my turbo and the race car the difference is so clear.

10p off a litre if you go in & ask for a voucher up until the 2nd of June which makes it a penny cheaper than fuelsave, min fill 40 litres !!![:D][:D][:D]

just filled mine today and did notice the difference

also received this email ....

I'm going to be running the race car on this stuff this weekend - see if I can notice any difference from the Sunoco stuff I used last year (apart from the significant cost saving!).
