Anyone tried Yokohama AO52?

I have run the earlier AD08`s at Bedford on a modified Boxster (RPM Technik`s CSR), excellent
 
yes you should get 2 seconds a lap over a cup far more track bias and far more expensive.
 
On my list of things to try this year. Fast tyre, but availability has been the main issue I think, also not sure about wear life.
Where are you seeing them available from?
 
I raced on the earlier version in a Westfield. Great tyre in the dry but lethal in the wet, particularly if its cold. Very temperature dependent getting in the sweet spot of grip before they start to grain. This was obviously on a much lighter car.
 
I’ve no experience with either tyre Ralph but given that the Cup2 isn’t noted for a strong wet road performance, and comparing the two tread patterns, I would imagine that John’s comments about a previous generation of the Yokohama will still apply. It looks very much a dry-road-biased tyre to me.

I was, as one does, perusing rennlist and looking at recommended tyres. Demon Tweeks list them
 
Was in the US earlier in the year at a Porsche club exhibition in Boise Idaho (not a regular tourist trap but my daughter lives there). I was talking to some owners and saw virtually no-one in the GT cars on Michelin, either 4s or Cup2's. They were favouring the Yokohamas for track work and swore by them. I think an important proviso to that could be the temperatures. In summer Boise is regularly over 40C and it rarely/never rains so it may be the Yoko's worked better in their conditions.

people just buy the fastest tyre no matter the cost in the USA.
Times seems more important than fun.

It's a hard core track tyre to go up vs the CUP R. But should last longer than an R, but not as long as a Cup in normal temps.
