Anyone used 9seriesparts.com? http://www.9seriesparts.com/

Just that with the $2 -£1 at the moment it is quite tempting to order stuff from the states. The site looks OK, but I am just a bit weary of scam websites and I can't find a proper address on the site anywhere. It looks fine apart from that though. The Live help works, and they seem to provide you with the right answers.

The main reason I am thinking of ordering from them is they sell remanufactured brake calipers for S2s and early Turbos for $39.99 plus $50 core charge. This is the best deal I can find anywhere and is amazing if true. I was curious as they only have a generic single piston caliper in the photo, but they are remanufactured by a company called A1cardone. I found their site: http://www.cardone.com/English/Club/default.asp and on here it shows the correct photos of each caliper with the same part numbers as on 9series parts. Hopefully this could be a very good answer to old calipers with plate lift and other problems as I can't find them any cheaper. $180 + shipping!!

i havent used this company but would be wary of websites that do not provide an address

Had a quick look at their "whois" details:

Administrative Contact:
9SERIESPARTS.COMCmPAWu@privacypost.com
c/o 9SERIESPARTS.COM
P.O. Box 821650
Vancouver, WA 98682
US
+1.360-449-5933

I would be wary of ordering from a company that only operate from a PO Box and where the domain name has not been registered in anyones name?

Their prices are ridiculously cheap - i had a quick look at brake discs and Brembo's are $65 - thats £30!!!

If it seems too good to be true....it usually is....but why not try ordering something cheap and if it turns up I'll be on the phone to them with a massive order!

Good Luck

If you are ordering from abroad beware of the import duty and vat especially on large orders, if its lots of parts you maybe better off ordering it seperately and having lots of deliveries.

Well that is what I was thinking too, it's too good to be true, and the address thing put up the alarms but a lot of their other prices are quite normal, zimmerman discs are about $100. Might try what you suggest and order something cheap and see what happens. I have found the same sort of price on other sites for the calipers, ( including www.rockauto.com, anyone tried here?) and this site does show its address. The calipers were $35 + $50 core charge on there, but the shipping was $184 or something. It still works out about £180.

I know what you mean Andy, I thought I would factor in about 50% import and VAT just to be on the safe side when trying to work out if it would be cheaper than here. Even at £270 for a pair of refurbed calipers it still makes it a good deal. Best I can find elsewhere is £179.99 each, and that includes an exhange so quite a good saving if it is right.

Ask if they will ship by USPS rather than UPS/Fedex or the like. You'll definitely be stung by Fedex, but USPS stuff I've had hasn't been charged.

BTW http://www.9seriesparts.com/porschebrakecaliper.html only lists four calipers, can't see any for S2/turbo.
And this is the only page I can find on the cardone website:
http://www.cardone.com/English/Club/Products/Brakes/Protech/Articles/caliper%20article.asp
Which calipers are you looking at?

I contacted Cardone direct the other day and they say they don't have any of these calipers in stock at the momenet, and that they are finding it hard to get hold of cores to remanufacture. I also got hold of autopartswarehouse who seem to run 9series parts and lots of other parts sites and they don't actually have any in stock either. It doesn't look like there are any avaliable at such a good price unless they get more in soon. [&:]
