Anyone Worked out Homelink Programming

Guys,

I have the homelink on my car, as I have two separately remote controlled electric garage doors, and a electrically operated gate at the entrance to our gated estate.

Today I have tried to program the three buttons using the method in the manual.

This involves pointing the original remote at the front of the car until the driving lights flash indicating that the programing has been successful.

this worked on both the garage doors and the gate remotes.

In addition on the gate remote you have to perform anther step as it is a rolling code system, which again I did and had a confirmation to say the programming.

However when I tried to use the programmed buttons in the car, no response from the doors or the gate!!

Any one else experienced this and found a solution to it at all?

Thanks in advance for any guidance.

I have homelink on my car. It is a bit fiddly but if you follow the instructions in the manual you should get the system working. On my garage door one button on homelink is for opening and the other is to close with a spare button - I dont have electric gates.

I seem to remember having problems with my previous car and the door unit - I had to purchase a compatable door receiver unit for homelink. I think if you google "homelink" you can get more instructions and compatability issues . My electric door suppliers knew there was a problem with the unit I had some years ago but could not sort it out. I went to the door manufactureres and bought the compatable receiver unit which was subsequently installed on my new door about a year ago.

Hope this is of help.

I had a little difficulty in programming Homelink for my garage door but following the manual carefully did resolve it on the second or third attempt. I would suggest trying to program the gate first and then the doors. Also, as a matter of interest, whilst my garage door responds to the briefest press of the button on the remotes that were supplied with it, I have to hold the Homelink button down for a noticeable (but reasonably short) period of time - with the led that indicates Homelink operation flashing - for Homelink to operate the door.

I had Homelink on a few Mercedes and had no problems programming the 'Opener' to open the gates but never suceeded in getting it to open the garage doors which have a 'Rolling Code'

My Current 2007, 911 was a doddle to programme but my 2008 Cayenne will not accept any form of programming. I have even tried the Porsche Tecnical Buletin for resetting the Homelink to UK codes, all with no success.

I am puzzled why one car works and the other doesn't. ????

Any suggestions ???
