Alan Smith and I are taking the Porsches and partners for a weekend at Tideswell, 2-5 June.
Any car or plane related sites to visit? Recommended drives?
Thanks
Stuart

Hi Guys from East Anglia Its a shame I am busy on other stuff over the weekend, everywhere in that area is great but watch for speed cameras and secret police / helicopters owing to the area busy with motorbikes, suggest the cat and fiddle Buxton to Macclesfield road and most of the roads that lead off this pass. If you want to ring me for more advice the number is in P.P. under region 8 newsletter.
Have a great time the weather looks good.
Regards
Tom Fisher R.O.

B5055 Bakewell to west is great. Through Monyash then cross over A515. Royal Oak in Hurdlow worth a visit (but book for food, very popular) through Crowdecote (mind hairpins) and Longnor until you reach A53. Lots of great roads in that area - just watch out for cyclists and walkers on the road, lots more than in East Anglia.

You could possibly drive over to The Barrel at Bretton (accessible from Grindleford or from the Hope side). Its a nice pub sat right on the top of a hill and overlooks Great Hucklow Gliding Club. So if you fancy a pint whilst at the same time watching gliders fly by, then this is the place to be :)

Thanks guys, went to chatsworth today, planning run to snake pass via Derwent dam and back to Matlock on Saturday afternoon.
Have already visited the Barrel this morning and have dinner booked there for Saturday evening.
Great suggestions and loving the area!

Quick update on today's roadtrip, had fun on cat and fiddle, stopping for coffee and bacon/egg sarnies at peak view caff, thereafter across to Derwent dam, lady bower and snake pass to glossop, next was Matlock and afternoon tea in bakewell, yes bakewell puddings and not tarts were obtained in the town and eating outside enjoying the great views and weather at the Barrel at Breton.
Loads of Porsches also seen on the roads of the Peak District.
Thanks for all your suggestions, we all have had a great time, in a lovely area with amazing roads, who needs the Isle of Man :0

Well you've certainly got around today. Great to see that you've had a nice time in Derbyshire. Safe trip home

Followed your recommendation as a detour on way home and the A53 from Buxton to Longnor was stunning this morning and as scenic as the Cat and Fiddle, the 5055 is an interesting route too and it seems lots of bikers of the pedal and motor kind think so too! Norfolk seems so flat now!
