A wee birdy has just informed me that these are moving from our regular haunts to Stirling?

I'm fine with that, as I will be living back that way, but I cant imagine too many people being that pleased about it. I assume the "usual" consultation with members was conducted yes?

I for one could not make the Stirling venue due to family etc., eating first and the time it would take me to drive through so sadly I won't be going [:(]

I'm assuming it wasn't discussed/agreed with the members at the last Edinburgh club night then?

Greig, I wasnt there, but from the state of Jane on the phone, I would suggest not. She is a bit pee'd off, as I imagine many of us will be.

As I said before about other major decisions, it good to see that members are being consulted about these important matters.

Irrespective, I think I will still go to Dakota on the 1st Thursday. See you all there no doubt!

I could not make the last Porsche meeting so I don't know if it was discussed or not, perhaps someone that was there can clarify this?

Thinking about the dates, this would have been written before the last club night in order to be published.

Was there not a bit of chat before Xmas about moving the January meeting to Bridge of Allan / Stirling which came to nothing?

Some of us did meet in Stirling in January but it was mid month.

So was anyone actually asked/consulted about changing the club nights? Ive spoken with 4 or 5 people who in reading about it, was the first time they knew anything of it.

I recall the big debate/consultation about moving from the Hawes to Dakota.

And this was because, as always has been the case, there was no official meeting in January

As Alison said this was a one off and was never intended to replace the normal meets and it was in January when there was no meetings arranged ,this is totaly differant issue all the Glasgow meets are cancelled for April .May. June. and who knows could be forever as is the Edinburgh meets, it is to be replaced by the Stirling venue ,how long it will last I have no idea ,I for one will still go to the Sherbrooke so long as people want to meet up I have been going to the meets for 15 years and hardly missed one even during the war years [:D][:D]
Why not try it and see if it improves the membership if not vote with your feet ,I know how a lot feel not being consulted and a possible trial meeting to guage peoples thoughs and opinion would have been better to see if it worked ,await peoples comments and those of the commitee that represent us.

Can I ask why Stirling ........do most members live there?? What's the reason??
Kx

To be honest, I'm not fussy about where the club nights are held and I do like the idea of everybody meeting in one place rather than having separate East and West coast clubs. Whether Stirling's the right place or not, I don't know. We'll see, I guess. It does strike me as a bit odd that nobody asked the current active members.

I do really like the idea of having some activities planned"”a visit to the Porsche Centre Edinburgh, a polishing/detailing visit, and some guest speakers at the club nights "¦ these all sound like good ideas to me. Hope to see some of you there.

Perhaps the idea is that Stirling is handy for no-one? I don't like the separate nights much either, but I'm not sure what also works.

I can't face East Coast PCGB Tues, TIPEC Wed then PCGB West Coast on the thursday. I like some time to myself during the week! It does seem that these things are just handed to the members. Appreciate the thought that has gone into planning things, but no-one has been consulted it seems.

Will the people or person organising these events TURN UP at them ..await reply??? .

ah, the crux of this entire thread in one foul swoop. Well done Gordon and as you say, "await reply"?? (I'd get a comfy chair though, could be a while) [;)]
