Aproved warranty and indi servicing

Hi all i've not been on here for a while so happy new year!

I took out the extended warranty last July, since then I've not enjoyed the best service from my local OPC when i had a problem with the aircon. I don't feel confident in taking my car to them for it's annual service. The car has only done 6000 miles since it's major service last January.

Before the 996 I had a 968 and enjoyed great help and service from my local indi who i have got to know very well. I wan't to take my car to them for the service but i'm not sure if this is going to cause problems if i have another warranty claim.

As anyone had a service done by an indi and then had a claim through the warranty is my question?

Cheers Chris

provided they use porsche approved parts there should be no problem with a warranty claim is what Jonas at JZ told me,but not actually tested the theory yet!!

Ditto, was told the same by OPC. Have had a g'box ecu or controller changed but I suspect that was at discretion of OPC rather than Porsche UK, or at least copies of service record were not requested by UK. So you should be OK.

But I share your concerns about OPC and warranty in general. The new rules (and pricing) mean I will drop out of official warranty on the Cayenne at renewal and take my chances. Trust my Indie implicitly. Not so the OPC.

My OPC told me the codensers weren't covered! I had to get Porsche UK involved and take it to another OPC as i didn't trust the original.

Thankfully i can't renew as my car will be too old, i'd rather take my chances with my trusted indi.

I'll book my car in for service in the morning.

Cheers Chris
