We've all heard of the 924 Martini and Le Mans; but have you heard of a 924 Aramis????

Aramis as in the aftershave.

I was taking to a chap today who has seen it and is thinking of buying the car - he was unable to give further details but he did say that the car was on a 'Y' plate and was offered as a prize at some point. Its body is brown and it has gold wheels and appeared in 'Classic Cars' magazine in around 1986.

I am going to follow this up myself with him, but does anyone have any clue if this car is a genuine Porsche special??!!

UPDATE: Aramis 924

A lady rang me today to say that she had owned the car in the early 90's.
At some point (maybe 1991 for the 924s 15th birthday?) it was featured in magazines and maybe even filmed at some time.
Later she sold it on to a gentleman from the East coast who had tried to win the original competition.

The car was originally coming up with a slogan!
Aramis had Porsche do a special paint job which included 22 carat gold pinstripes!! (although they were later replaced with decals when the gold faded with time)

So it looks like the car is a genuine special edition - but not a Porsche special edition (apart from the painwork).

I'm hoping to receive some photos of the car soon.
