arrggghhh!

I came back to my car and thought something looked a little odd. Looking closer it appears that the left hand side of the front bumper has been pushed in by maybe half an inch. Just enough that the gap to the panel on the left is slightly different to the one on the right. I'm absolutely positive it hadn't been like that before. So someone had been parking by feel fairly vigorously. Naturally there was no note. Bastard.

I don't think this will be difficult to fix, and I hope not too expensive. I guess I'll find out on Saturday when I've got it booked for service. Sigh... I've only had it a week:-(

If the service is with an indie then they should be able to advise.

Sorry to hear your news. "Bastard" just about sums it up, I'm sorry to say.

Hope it comes out OK. It *may* be just a matter of straightening something out. (It may cost you millions - nay, billions - to fix with main-dealer-only-parts, hewn from solid unobtanium, washed with unicorn tears and then polished to a high lustre on the thighs of naked nepalese virgins. For your sake, I hope it doesn't.)

Oli.

A separate bumper car has two mounts. One a 924 type and the other a more substantial type with an internal thread to house the towing eye. Its usually the 924 bumper mount which fails and this can be replaced by the threaded mount. Better to buy second hand because youll know its straight (the 924 mounts bend easily, as youve seen) and itll toughen the front up a little - usually better, although not always.
