other than going through porsche (very helpful) is there any other way to find out about missing history. I am looking at a car with FPSH up until 2005 then nothing afterwards.
the DVLA have mots going back to 2008 which tally with the mileage but i know it was stolen recovered in that time?
the reg no is R324 LBX. Blue 911 C2S
the previous registered keeper lived in Welling, anybody know of any specialist nearby?
i would prefer any sensitive info to be sent by PM please
thanks in anticipation.

Police might be of help?
There will be a report filed in whatever area it was stolen - if you know the area try the local constabulary. They should be ok to give yo a copy of the report - which should at least give you the mileage (if not also any major damage sustained).

i dont know where it was stolen from. the seller has very little info. i had hoped it may have been a forum members car or someone who might have known the vehicle.
the car is in exception condition but has a gaping hole in the service history. it hasnt dome many miles in that period ie less than 1500 but it concerns me a little, hence my request for assitance.

You can get a list of previous owners from DVLA - perhaps do that, work out from the dates which one must have owned it at gap period, and give them a call if they are in the phone book.

The blank period is not very long really because these cars sometimes sit in a garage unused for several years if an owner is not using it but does not need to sell (I'm feeling guilty having just realized I've not yet finished the tank of fuel I put in in late January[]).
