Aston Martin Scalextric challenge - 1st April

Mike mentioned this one at our February meeting.

We need to get a minimum team of 6 together to meet the challenge from the Aston chaps. The venue is Peggotty's in nearby Fosters Booth and the racing will begin between 7 and 8pm.

We need to take our own cars otherwise the challengers will give us some of their cr@ppy ones. I don't mind volunteering since I came 2nd in the 2003 London Stock Exchange Scalextric challenge [8|] and I have an assortment of cars and a possible track layout if anyone fancies a practice to find some speedy cars.

Come on, let's beat the AML brigade. [:)]

I said to Mike I wasn't really bothered but I'll make up the numbers if you need 1 more when the time comes.

I have miles of track and a few cars. I think I can make up a four lane circuit as well. I also have the space to lay out a pretty good sized circuit so if you need a practise venue I could oblige as well.

The only caveat is that everyone helps put the track up and puts it away at the end.

Most of my experience playing with the scalextric tends to be 1 hour setting up 36.5 seconds playing until Tom gets pissed off and then an hour putting it away again! [8|]

Cheers

Andy

Andy,

that's very kjnd of you and definitely something we should organise.
Jeff is interested too and I'm sure Gary, Steve and Edward (all of R10A then?) could be persuaded.

Any date/time suggestion?

Said to Mike I would take part but unfortunately I am in the Caribbean for the first two weeks of the Easter school break and don't get back until the 9th - sorry.

Whats happened to Eddie he seems to have become a 'deleted' user !!

I'm sure Edward could explain better in person, but he decided to leave the forum and asked the administrators to remove him completely.

The cause was a number of postings he made advertising his new valet and detailling business which offended a few forum members.

Anyway Graham, when are you coming out pedalling with us again?

The scalextric night is definitely on.
We have a minimum team of 5 but would welcome anyone else who wants to join in.
