It's about time I posted some pics of my car... these were taken on Sunday on a drive into South Wales.

Lovely pics. Nice combo of interior colour and silver.
Interesting alloys. Are they from a 928?

Lovely colour. I like very much those wheels, they look so elegant.

ORIGINAL: flamingeye
Interesting alloys. Are they from a 928?

According to their curvature they are the ones made specifically for the 944 turbo 220, 7" front and 8" rear.

I haven't seen these on any other 944 other than probably this one if you attended the 'Frontrunner'
No offence intended at all[], for some reason I think they tend towards what you would see on an American 944. I do like them , honest![:)]

BKE had a set on when I bought him but they now languish in my shed after I swapped them for the Boxster S wheels I had on our Lux.

I believe the 928 style wheels were an option on the 88 Turbo. The wheels are forged and very, very, very light.

I have been hanging on to mine with a view to slapping a set of slicks on then, for track days, but could be encouraged to part with them if the price was right.

Hi chaps, thanks for all the positive comments [:)]. To address the various questions:

Wheels - I believe these are indeed specially for the 220 Turbo. They're visually very similar to the 928 ones. I too haven't seen them on any other 944s - although I didn't make it to Frontrunner so it sounds like there's another one out there somewhere! Regarding the 'American' point - I thought the American 951s from this year came with teledials, but I may be mistaken on that one. Personally I love the wheels and I would never consider changing them, partly because as TTM said I think they're really elegant, they also draw a lot of compliments from non-Porsche drivers; but more importantly I'm committed to keeping the car looking original, as the previous two owners did such a good job in that respect. I'd like to get them refurbished soon though.

I believe the Zermatt Silver code is LY7Y although I'll double-check this for you Berg944. Oh and well spotted John, the pictures were taken at Oxwich!

Cheers
Dan

Not too tricky as my parents live just up the road. [;)] Obviously Gower is a terrible place and, contrary to all the Welsh Tourist board propoganda should not be visited on any account. Don't go there; you will hate it and, being Wales, it always rains.
