ATE Calipers: How easy to Break?

Further to my opther post I wonder if anyone has any experience of cast iron ATE calipers breaking when their flexi hose is removed?

I know that Brembos can be fragile as they age but Id not come across this with the ATE calipers before.

How on earth would you manage that?

I'm assuming they're like the 4 pot Alu Brembo ones and have a female connection?

I'd love to know which bit they broke (having just read the other thread). I couldn't imagine breaking the Alu ones to be honest, they seem pretty solid to me

Assuming the ATE calipers are similar to what's used on Pug's and Fords I've had them where they have been tough to get the flexis out (including a hammer and some vice grips action), but never where the caliper has snapped there.

They prob snapped the hose in the caliper, then could not be arsed to drill it out.
Your paying the bill for the new caliper so it dosent matter to them.

When I have the hoses in my hand I will know for sure, but this is what suspect. I wont be paying the bill though.
