Attention of moderators threads with large number pages to view

Hello
Is it just me threads with huge number of pages for example "Porsche spotting" selecting the last page 112 ( the" >> "tab to last dated page) to view it doesn't get there and tries and tries again?
I'm using Chrome, MacBook Air if it helps and if its actually a bug?

John

Interesting. It might be that someone posted and then deleted their post or something? Will pass it up the line to see what can be done.

Always bugs me why threads don't automatically go to the last post when you open them. It's annoying to go back into a thread and have to select the last page.

It’s been like that for a long time, the "what did you do to your 944 today” thread has 257 pages but the forum seems to think there’s 258 so can never find it.

Bugs me too - especially as we asked for thus many times over the last few years. I'll put in another request []

I want to know who managed to sell our Forum Software to the Bentley club for £00,000s?

Salesman of the year there, give them a raise. I wouldn’t have it given :ROFLMAO:

The development of the DMP system was always meant to be developed in such a way that it could be used by other car clubs. The previous IT director Chris James had the insight and vision to and he was the person manly responsible for the sale.

it would seem sensible to me to periodically archive longer threads and just keep the present year or most recent posts live .!
What possible advantage is there in keeping thousands of posts of other 944 spotting, live, in a thread going back years that you have to wade through
?

Its not great though is it [:D] surely a more commonly used open source forum software would have been better, e.g. the software used on Rennlist or Tipec.

Takes me 30 minutes to find the private message mailbox, not really very obvious where it is...

Back on topic the issue you mentioned bugs me as well as it appears to erroneously think there is an extra page, which there isn't and when you click to visit the page or the last posting you get directed to a page that gets stuck in a constant reload loop.

That and only a handful of us actually appear to use the forum - I don't think anyone from my region comes on here judging by the posts in my region section...

Subjective, isn't it. If you look at the number of posts on a thread versus the number of views it varies but always a small percentage. I would be interested to find out the stats of posts/views in any given month now and, say, 5 years ago.

on another note, has anyone experienced the reply function not working properly, today I have made a reply both using my PC and on my phone and in both cases, the reply has not appeared until I refresh the page?

Pete

Yes Pete
Noticed this a couple of days ago, seems to have started over the weekend on month change?
do you think the forum is a woman?
