Au revoir 997 forum

It is with a mixture of sadness and joy that I have to announce my departure from 997 motoring and my arrival to the wonderful world of 991 motoring with PSE and all that lovely noise it makes.

It's sad because myself and Katrina have had a great time on 997 events, we have meet some really nice people along the way and now it will be difficult, if not impossible to get on some of these events now as they are so popular and I have the wrong car!

Anyway, thanks to everyone in the 997 forum for making us feel so welcome and especially to Gary, Jo, Clive and Alan for all the hard work organising the great events we have been on.
We will of course see many of you again at the Wilton House and Christmas bashes and I dare say other events may well combine the forces of 997's and 991's - so it's not goodbye, just au revoir.

We are heading off to Paris and Reims tomorrow for a few days in the new car with the roof down as much as possible catching some rays and looking forward to a good drive of the car, and here she is [:)]

What an excellent way to run the new car in [:)]
I'm sure Peter will welcome you into the 991 register and I hope to meet up with you at some of the mixed events over the next few months, be great to see and hear why you've moved on..[8D]
The ducktail moves the game on for me with the 991 - looks excellent

Traitor! But seriously, looks lovely Russell and I'm sure we will see you at a joint event in the not too distant future. I'm sure you followed the 997 register trip to France recently? If so you will have seen a nice long straight near Reims, which has an old grandstand and pits, to give your new motor a workout![:D]

Wow, looks great, we will look that up in Reims!
Got the co-ordinates ready, we are only staying just a few km away from there [:)]

In which case- the forest road to Epernay is quite interesting this time of the year (any time of the year really [;)]), especially in a cabriolet

is that the main D951 through the centre from Epernay to Reims?

Russell,

Nice car the interior is really a step up.

As an aside just as well I didn't wait for you to buy my Turbo S cab ! it would probably have been less money as well.

Enjoy your running in trip and keep an eye out for the Police station at the r/bout at the top on the main straight 1/4 mile up from Alan's picture.

See you at Wilton.

Geoff

Hi Russell,

Just catching up on all the gos. after 4 days away at FOS. [:)]

I was really sorry to hear you'll be leaving us for the 991 Register, but hearty congratulations on the new car. Having seen those photographs, it looks stunning and I can quite understand how you were weaned away from your previous 911.

Enjoy your trip to France and I hope you'll keep in touch with all your pals at 997 Register upon your return. Indeed, our friends over at 991 are always welcome to join us, so I'm looking forward to seeing the car very soon.

Well done.

Clive.

Hi Russell,

Gorgeous car - can see why you were tempted to change! Does that mean you'll have to get a new wig/hat to go with the upgraded interior........?

Enjoy the car and looking forward to seeing it some time soon, all the best, John
