Audi Q7 - Audi Diesel Wins Le Mans !

I've read that Porsche never intend to develop a deisel engine as they think that petrol engine deveopment has alot further to go that deisel. However the current ethos of Porsche is to expoit every market it can in order to remain an independant company so I think market forces will drive them to put a diesel engine into a Cayenne eventually - but don't bank it on being a Porsche unit.
 
I think sales will have to take a much bigger dive before they would consider anything like this.

The hybrid is their pander to the greenies.

IMHO.. Porsche should consider a Cayenne variant which is not a SUV .. remove the offroad capbilities (ie the diff locks, reduction etc), keep the permanent 4WD, lower the suspension and produce a RS6 Avante destroyer [:D]
