This is what happens when an Audi TT has a blowout and you are unfortunate enough to be around.

Umm William - is that your car?[&:] BIG commiserations if it is![X(] Is it over at 9M now for a rebuild?

Graham,

Unfortunately it is[:(]

After the insurers have seen it, will be headed for 9M and some of Marks TLC, I hope!

This was after I actually got round to fitting the mufflers!

Insurers have written it off and have said that they will only settle the claim and not get involved in selling the salvage.

Now on the look out for another 993, dependent on how much the insurers will give me[:(]

If you think a lot of the car and want to keep it....... ARGUE! Insurers are not the SS they don't have the final word necessarily especially if all you want back is the salvage and some dosh. I think that would be saving them money. Join all the Porsche forums and post asking for threads on this mess, you will find peeps who have been through similar situations with helpful suggestions, thank god you are OK and Good Luck, don't give up.

Bones,

Thanks for that. My insurer does not deal with you directly about the salvage as they appoint a TP salvage company to handle that side of things. So immediately the TP salvage company will be looking for profit on my car which means that I will lose out.

Still trying to get a settlement figure from the insurers who say they have received all the documentation and history but at the moment cannot find it[] Luckily I sent everything byspecial delivery and the PO have confirmed delivery so the insurers cannot come back at a later date and say they had made a mistake and had not received it!

I live in hope[8|]

Hi William

I had exactly the same problem when I wrote off my 944 Cab, I had a "guestimate" done by a bodyshop friend of mine and when the car went up for sale (the bas***ds had an online auction), it went for silly money. Looking at it though, I would say that it has twisted the chassis, so I would be a little apprehensive about getting back into it even if done by a reputable repairer.

You may find that it goes for silly money from the salvage company too. Good luck in whatever happens.

Regards

Phil
