Augusts' club night will see the return of the popular summer BBQ event along with the Show & Shine carried over from last month. We will also be holding a raffle in support of the Stroke Association in memory of Adam Sobek who passed away earlier this month.

Summer BBQ
The BBQ will cost £8.00 per head which can be paid to the Owl on the night. I will post up a full menu later but it will essentially be burgers, sausages and a salad buffet. Food will be available from 8.00pm in the function room to the rear of the pub.

The Show & Shine
The Show & Shine will not be held to any rules or judging criteria other than that the cars must be Porsches. Everyone gets to place a vote for a car and prizes will be awarded for 1st , 2nd and 3rd places. Entrants should park up in the square area at the far right of the Owl's car park.

Location
The Owl at Hambleton near Selby link a couple of miles east of J42 A1(M) on the A63 between Monk Fryston and Selby.

Ian, bizarrely they didn't want exact numbers but it would be useful to have an idea of how many are coming is if it gets wildly above our normal turnout they will need to know but I suspect it is almost impossible to get a true idea as many members don't get the news letter or use the forum and rely on Porsche Post.

If anyone is definitely coming if they could either add a post here or drop my an email I would appreciate it.

just an observation ...... especially if you want to encourage new attendees ( unfortunately don't think I'll be able to come ) ..... but , could you include a link to where the pub's location is for those of us who have never been :) ... might be useful in the emailed newsletter too [:)]

thanks .... even though I'm sure that's just been added [;)][:D]

I had indeed just added it, although it can also be found in the events list at the top of the forum, in PP and in the letter that new members get. Although thanks to James' prod I discovered that the url I have been using is no longer correct and there is a nice new simpler one which I will use until it changes again.

Hi Mark,

I cannot make it along to Wednesday, working away for a few days. Hope you get a better turnout than last month.

Regards

Hi Mark, count three of us in. Also I know its difficult at a barbie but are there any veggie options for Linda?
Here's hoping for a fine evening.

I hadn't thought of that I will try and get something sorted out.

Mark, thanks for the engraved glass for my 3rd place.

Sorry we had to leave early, but it was very late for the kids (they have never been out so late).

Regards

Paul
