PCGB. Region 9. West Midlands
Our Meetings are on the FIRST TUESDAY of the Month, NOT as advertised in the Porschephile.
Normally, at The Bear Inn, Berkswell .
Our Sunday the 5th August visit to "˜Auto Historic' at Leek in Cheshire This was cancelled, owing to lack of support, possibly due to the recent weather. Perhaps we will try again next year.
Once again, we had a good social meeting at the Bear Inn, now on the first Tuesday of the month. Plenty of Porsches to talk about and plenty of friends. Hopefully, the good weather will now continue for a while, until we retire indoors in October for a look into the past with Peter Cook.
It was good to see several new Members turning up and we look forward to their regular visits. Several of us stayed late and there were only two customers left after us.
PCGB Festival at Ragley Hall on Sunday the 9th September. I have been asked to find some volunteers for an hour or so. If you can spare a little time, without spoiling your day, let me know
CONCOURS
Check PP for invitations to these elsewhere. Paul and Barbara Seagrave have kindly offered their home for our Concours again. However, much of their ground was unusable so unfortunately, owing to the awful weather, we are now late into the year and have decided to cancel this as it is too close to Ragley Festival. It will be one of our first planned items for next year.
Clay Pigeon Shoot at Minsterley Ranges on September 30th at "The Bog", East of the A488 about 13 miles South West of the centre of Shrewsbury. When you book, I will send you a direction map. Cost is £15 for 25 clays, guns, instructors and a good buffet. Always a popular day out. Book with me as soon as possible so I can arrange catering. Pay on the day.
Forthcoming Meetings.
Tuesday, 4th September at The Bear Inn.
Tuesday 2nd October. Peter Cook will be coming to tell us about our Archives and Porsche History. Peter says, that if you have any pictures, films video's etc., that you may consider mundane, let him know. Today's pictures are tomorrow's history as you will see in October. What were you wearing 20 or 30 years ago?
Weekend Events.
Sunday 16th September. - R9 Treasure Hunt, starting from OPC Sutton Coldfield.
Sunday 30th September - Clay Pigeon Shoot at Minsterley Ranges.
Sunday 14th October. - Welsh Marches Treasure Hunt, R13
Porsches in precipitation, perform particularly placidly, when propelled properly!
John Lord.
