August Octane Mag

I'm sure everyone has seen the August Octane mag RS special but does anyone know what wheels are on the yellow 964?

They look like cup 1 style but with much bigger offset or something to give the much deeper dished look that's popular in the US - either that or they are very wide.

Not great I'm afraid as it's in the centrefold but you get the idea

There were and are severeal aftermarket wheels like the ones on the picture. www.fvd.de is a good site to check, could be these wheels:

Going by your picture, I think we had a conversation about these wheels on here about 2 years ago - can't remember if they were on the yellow car though. I did a search but as is often the case the search facility proved totally useless.

If I remember correctly, they are single piece (not three piece and no bolts) 18" wheels which look almost exactly the same as Cup 1s, but the rims are much deeper than standard Cups and the spokes end about 1" inward of the rim.

Sorry to say I think we never really found out what they were 2 years ago either! [;)]

Well found Jamie. I really like the look of these wheels as an 'stock look but 18"' alternative to the 17" mags.

Do you (or anyone else) know about Weinkath - service/quality etc?

Yes, I agree, they do look nice - they are German, and I believe would therefore be TUV approved (German safety standard, which I understand to be a pretty decent measure of quality), but beyond that I don't know anything about them / price / service or anything, though with the Euro as strong as it is they are not likely to be cheap .............

If anyone is interested, I have a set of Porsche Cup 1 wheels for sale which I believe came off either an early Cup Car or a 3.3 Turbo. They are 17s, 8j on they front and 9.5j on the rear...supplied with spacers for the rear. Only done 100 miles on car after refurb...looking for £650 (ish).
