Hi All



Below are events coming up in the next few weeks. You will see that many have a need to re-book as the organisers need to know how many to cater for. Please help everyone by letting me know ASAP if you are planning to attend.

9th August - Hell's Hole Road and Devil's Beeftub Drive and Dine. Heading into the Southern uplands of Scotland towards Selkirk along some of the finest driving roads and scenery around.

Meet at 10.0am "" 10.30 in Costas coffee shop at Gretna Gateway shopping centre, Gretna Green, before the drive through Longtown, Newcastleton, Bonchester Bridge along Hell's Hole Rd. "" a superb scenic B road route. Reach Selkirk for lunch at the 4 star Philpburn Country House Hotel, Bistro and Restaurant. 19th August ""(Wednesday)- Joint meeting with Kirkby Lonsdale Motor Club "" Car Park Concours. Heaves Hotel, Levens, Nr Kendal. (Previously it has been at the Redwell Inn, but the event is now too large for them to accommodate).



This annual event is very popular. Entrants judge each others cars. A good selection of prizes for many classes, including Best Porsche.



Hot pot supper available for driver included in the £7.50 entry price. Additional suppers available at £6.50. I need to know by 12th August if you are intending to come along as KLMC need to have an idea of how much hot-pot to order. 2 Years ago they ran out on the night. Last year we had around 30 Porsche's out of an entry of 80 cars.


You also need to be on site by 19.00hours.


30th August "" Blackpool Vehicle Preservation Society Classic Car Show.

This event is in the Italian Gardens at Stanley park, Blackpool. Free tickets available, but you need to let me know if you will be attending. You will need to be on site by 9.00. There are many attractions going on in Stanley Park during the day.



30th -31st August "" Bank Holiday Monday - Oulton Park Gold Cup. Free tickets for car + driver available through Barry Dolton, R5 Regional Organiser. You need to contact him ASAP and send him a SAE. Contact details in Porschefile or Porsche Post


1st September "" Social Meeting "" Brackenrigg Inn, Watermillock


6th September "" (Sunday) - Bolton Hospice Rally. Several members have been attending this fund raising event on behalf of the hospice for a number of years. The event starts at Bolton School, Chorley New Road, Bolton, and bacon butties available. The non-competitive run is about 30 miles, finishing back at Bolton School for Roast Beef lunch, with apple pie and custard to follow. Entry fee is £25.00 per car, and lunch £14.00 each (£8.50 for children under 12). I have some entry forms so if you are interested please contact me ASAP.


16th September- (Wednesday) Visit to Jasmine Porschalink. The monthly meeting will therefore not now be at Garstang GC. Brian and Sue Goff have kindly invited us to their new premises at The Porscha Centre, Pendleside, Lomeshaye Industrial Estate, Nelson, BB9 6RY.


Format for the evening:-



(a) Start time 7.30 pm whichever you think is best

(b) Complimentary buffet with drinks

(c) Jasmine shall ensure there are many cars in for the members to have a look at ;

(d) Jasmine will be demonstrating their latest Porsche Diagnostic equipment and offering all members a free diagnostic check on their post 1998 cars

(e) All 8 of their staff will be present on the evening

(f) A charity raffle draw will be drawn on the evening

(g) Jasmine will be inviting all their local customers to attend to encourage them to join the Porsche Club ;


(h) The Editor and Photographer of the Ribble Valley Live Magazine have been invited and will be aiming at producing a full page editorial to run in the September edition of this 16000 distribution magazine.

26th September (Saturday) - 11.00 "" 16.00 hours "" Visit to Road & Race Restorations Ltd, Little Hulton, Nr Manchester, the approved body specialist for Porsche Centre, Bolton have invited us to their open day. They also prepare concours winning cars. 2 Arrival slots are available 11.00 and 13.30 hours. Please let me know if your are attending, and which slot you require. Buffet lunch provided- Hence the need to pre-book with me

Region 5 have also been invited, so this will be a very busy event.

27th September (Sunday) "" Joint lunch with Ferrari Club
"" Haighton Manor, Preston. This annual event start with a visit to Amari Supercars, Preston for coffee at 10.00, before the short drive to Haighton Manor. Cost £18.00/head for 3 course lunch. A booking form will shortly be circulated and a £10.00 deposit required.
