Apologies for the missing Register article this month - I just didn't get it submitted in time...

Here is what should have been in this months Porsche Post:

Boxster Day at Belvoir [/b]Castle[/b][/b]
[/b]

Further information for our Register Event this September.[/b]
Final details are being finalised as I write, but it is now time for you to get involved! The event has a couple of optional elements that need to be booked in advance: The Guided Tour and the Group Lunch, plus we really would like an indication of expected numbers so that we can inform the venue of the numbers likely to attend.

For the Guided Tour of the castle we can have a maximum of 25 on each tour. However as we are likely to get more than that, Belvoir are prepared to lay on as many tours as we wish, at whatever times we choose however we must let them know numbers in advance. They will then staff accordingly.

Similarly, with the group lunch. If we get up to 20 people then we will be booked in to the Stewards Restaurant, which is not in the actual Castle. However as the largest register in the club we should be able to do rather better than that! The first 60 who can confirm they will be taking the group lunch will, at no extra charge, have lunch in private in the Old Porters Hall within the castle.

So if you wish to join us with these options, please email Mick Dennis as soon as possible at m1ck.dennis|AT|btinternet.com[/b]
(please note that it is a number 1 that follows the letter m "" in place of the letter i and replace the |AT| with @).
Mick will forward menus for the lunch so that you can decide before you commit.
Similarly if you just wish to come along and have your own picnic then please let Mick know you are intending to be there so that we know how many cars to expect.

What is happening at this event?

This is primarily a social event "" notwithstanding the excellent venue and surroundings!
Boxster owners are always willing to talk about their experiences with the car and this will be an ideal opportunity for us all to do exactly that. Expert staff from Porsche Centre Nottingham are willingly giving their support to the event and will be bringing a couple of cars along for our perusal, as well as being available to answer questions, offer advice and give guidance.

There will also be an auto jumble for Boxster related items and PCGB memorabilia for those that wish to take part. Please note: One of the conditions imposed on us by our hosts is that there will not be any trade stands or commercial ventures at this event, therefore all items must be sold or advertised from your car.

A special treat is in store for us: We are told that a road legal, race-spec car will be with us from the newly announced Boxster Racing series[/i]. This series is a great new addition to the club racing calendar, and tremendous value "" the estimated cost of conversion from a standard Boxster S is about £2,100. Estimated top speed of 170mph. This makes it the fastest single make series at club level. With road legal cars... who is tempted?!

The venue itself has magnificent views over the surrounding countryside, glorious gardens and of course the castle itself which hosts many notable collections from the military treasures of the guardroom to the stunning staterooms with their impressive period art, tapestries, furniture and sculpture. The grounds are extensive with formal gardens, 17th century statues, Spring Gardens etc, all carefully planned to ensure plants are in bloom all year round.

Where is it?
Belvoir Castle, Grantham, Leicestershire NG32 1PE

Opening Times
11am - 5pm (last entry to the Castle at 4pm)

Admission Prices
Admission is £10.00 for a car and two adults. We will have private access away from the public entrance with dedicated car parking area for the Boxster Register on hard standing, directly facing the Castle. Entry to the Castle, Rose Garden, Statue Garden and the Duchess's Gardens is also included.

Special Refreshment Rates for Groups
The group lunch is a three-course lunch with coffee or tea for just £14.95 per person. Sample menus can be downloaded from the website, contact Mick Dennis for actual menus for the day.
Of course lunch is optional, and our hosts have no objection to our members taking picnics within the vast grounds if they wish to do so, and in the event of inclement weather we have even been offered a "˜downstairs' room within the Castle at no extra cost.

My thanks to Sue and Mick Dennis who have spent huge amounts of time negotiating with everyone involved to make this event something all Boxster register members will enjoy.
