Auto gearbox not shifting properly

Hello,
My Tiptronic struggles to change up to 4th - sporadic at best. Luckilly when I select the manual mode, I can work up and down perfectly.

Before succumbing to the help of a mechanic, does anybody out there have any thoughts as to what the cause and the cure might be?

When was your gearbox fluid last changed? The tip on my 968 was a little reluctant at times, and much improved once I changed the fluid. It changes up and down just fine now.

Maybe you are simply driving the car enthusiastically, causing the gearbox computer to select a sporty program which will be reluctant to change up to 4th even when you ease off the gas.
