Just taken the RS out for a blast.......with my wife !

A bit embarassing.....the speedo, auto rear spolier and ABS not working. The spoiler moves up and down using the switch but will not deploy automatically.
When I fire her up a warning beep sounds for about 5 seconds and the ABS light remains on with the warning light for the spoiler. The speedo also has packed up. Tried the brakes and the ABS is not working at all.
This has never happened at all before.
Any ideas chaps ???

Cheers,

Nick.

ps. Could it be that I allowed the wife to take the RS out for 5 mins ???? [>:]

I think Des had this problem a couple of years ago but I can't remember what the cause was. From memory it was something simple. I'm sure someone will be along very soon with a constructive reply. [8|]

Thanks for the quick response !

Forgot to mention I checked all the fuses and all ok ??

A faulty ABS relay (tall silver one in the fuse panel) can put the warning light and buzzer on and stop the ABS working. However, that won't account for all the other problems you've got. The spoiler not working automatically is a direct result of the speedo not working. I'd start by testing the battery both with everything turned off and when being charged by the alternator.

Front left ABS sensor u/s -happened to my Cup end of July......check the contacts first, but if you can budge the Allan bolt its a five minute job to replace. BTW, at the time there were no sensors available in UK!! Coupla days back order from Germany
