Has anyone had any dealings with autofarm in regards to services.
I had my 72 911 serviced last october but have had some work done by another garage
who have found some discrepancies won't go into what yet but a little concerned as I spent an awful lot of money with them and am now worried about the quality of the work.
Also, has anyone had any dealings with RGA in Vauxhall as they are the ones finding the issues.
From running pretty well my car has turned into a living nightmare of problems and it all seems to stem from mechanics.

Many thanks for any help

Is RGA the place under the arches near vauxhall? If so I've used them once for an emergency repair. They seemed like knowledgeable guys, but as I'd already told them what the problem was can;t really comment on thier expertise.

Never used Autofarm, I've had a few quotes in the past which I thought prohibitively expensive.

If you're in London I've heard good things from a number of old porsche drivers about Chris Turner in Willesden, but again not used him very much myself, I tend to do the work myself

Jonny,

I'd be surprised if Autofarm had done bad work on your car. I've heard (several times) that they are a bit pricey, but they are considered to be one of the best Early car outfits in the country...

I've not taken my car to Chris, but he's usually on hand at the Early 911 PCGB meetings to offer free advice. He was spot on the last time he took a 'free' look at my car.

Get a second opinion on RGA's advice would be my first move...

Easy tiger . . .

Autofarm are pretty well respected, and I've never come across anyone having problem with their work (although I haven't used them personally).

I don't think the forum is the best place to sort out problems like this . . . . dangerous territory.

I can understand your concerns, but I'm sure the best place to direct them is Autofarm . . . they're not a cowboy outfit and I'm certain they will put right problems (if they were at fault).

Never used Autofarm but I've been up there a couple of times and not really liked their attitude.
I'm sure they'd be interested to hear your comments. You should give them an opportunity to put things right.

A number of people I really respect say that they will only let Chris Turner touch their cars. Also, I've been quite impressed by JZ Machtech. Steve there knows MFI inside out. I'd get a second opinion. Good Luck.

Only ever used Autofarm.

Pricey for usre but they are extremely good, in my experience. If you have any doubts I'd get straight on the phone and talk to them.

BTW you should have gotten a detailled list of all the issues with your car, as wellas a detailled review of what they have done.

That should help you sort out what they knew the car needed but you did not get done....or if you were ill advised.

I'm biased becuase htey have always offered expemplary service and attitiude...after all how many people will spend a couple of hours with you showing thier latest projects, or even further bakc discussing a potential purchase when they knew I would not be able to afford one of their cars.

Please go back to them with your concersn and see how they react.

I agree completely - I have used Autofarm a lot in recent years when I had a Carrera 3.2 and their service in my experience has always been second to none.

If you have a problem speak to them - in my experience they have been more than reasonable if you have issues which they are responsible for.

Good luck.

Autofarm are without doubt the most professional outfit I have ever come across. I tried to use a couple of guys in London for minor stuff and they screwed up or messed me around, Autofarm cannot do enough to help you, they are diligent, attention to detail is first rate and they will always try and show u various options to arrive at a solution. If some think they are pricey I think they should consider the bigger picture of a botched job and the expense of fixing that !!!!

As remarked above if you have an issue with work that has been done then I suggest you call them and ask ... they are not cowboys !!!!!

I have only ever found them very honest and particularly interested in helping people to stay on the road and out of the workshop .... funnily enough I would give them a big thumbs up .........

Never used Autofarm but I can state that RGA (Bob Arnold) is first rate. If he found a problem with a car, then that problem is for real. Then you get it fixed properly and for a lot less than some of the other "specialists" I tried before discovering RGA.

Autofarm have such a high reputation I'd be surprised if they did anything less than top class work, price notwithstanding.

I always use Autofarm. The only time that my car has been anywhere else was for an engine rebuild (G Force) and on their reccommendation as they were too 'booked up' to help. Their hourly rate is on the high side but they seem to get the job done faster and that reflects their expetise.

By the way, I am a bit wary of a service provider that runs down other peoples work. A bit like a cowboy builder.
