Automatic light sensor

Hi,
Wondering if anyone else had issues with the automatic front lights? I have an occaisional warning light to say that the adjust system isn't working. Sometimes it's fine and on dark country lanes, "stretches forward" to illuminate the roads, and sometimes it doesn't work properly and dips right in front (maybe get 15-20 ft of light on the road) I'm wondering if it's the motors or actually the sensor that detects the road ?
