Hi All

I know a few of you went to the Autosport show last weekend, the club had a fantastic stand

and for those of you who missed it
there are a few more pics here - Autosport 2011

I really wanted to go to this show but I completely forgot about it until a week before it happened!

I must try and remember next year but that Christmas thing always pops up and distracts me beforehand.

First time for me - club stand looked good.

Loads of things to look at and people to talk to and got a cracking deal on some new seats.

Who says you can't get a good deal at a show [;)][;)][;)]

Also thought the live show was good - especially the Reliant Robin racing which was hilarious [:D][:D][:D]

Lighting is very strange there - even the pros have problems with the pink tinge lights - and then they use bright red carpet!

Mike.
Good to meet up on the thursday, and have a chat.
Yes the lighting is always poor at the NEC , i think they use sodium lights for energy saving reasons...Doesnt realy "show" the exhibits off very well. And definately not condusive to photography.....[8|][8|][8|]

[FONT=Arial"][FONT=verdana, geneva"]Should be able to clean them up with photoshop. Must make an effort to go along one year.

Ive got to say though .
I havnt been to an Autosport show for a few years, It didnt seem very big this year. Poss about a third of the size it was around 2-3 years ago..
In fact if it hadnt been for the "engineering" section it wouldve been very small indeed.
There was a distincy abscence of some of the larger exhibitors..
And a distinct lack of any "deals"..
Financial climate et all....[8|][8|][8|]

I went with my 10 y/o son on Sunday - we had a good day. Enough to keep him interested (most of the time) and plenty of people to chat to. The trade / engineering stuff is gone by then, but replaced by oval racing & drag cars - some amazing ones including a VW camper & a silver shadow!

I went partly to buy a new helmet - and got a reasonable deal.

Just about worth the money I think (almost free if you count the discount on the helmet & a few free autocars & PPC mags [:D]) The 935 on the club stand looked brutal!

The live show was quite entertaining - I haven't ever seen a more unstable race car than a reliant robin! Gwyndaf Evans was very quick in an Evo.
