"Porsche says the buyers for the Cayman will be younger than the Boxster. But at 42, the average age buyer for the Boxster is pretty young for such an expensive vehicle. The Cayman will be more according to earlier reports, so will the age really drop? I think the age will actually rise." [8|]

People who buy the Cayenne SUV have an average age of 45, while 911 buyers are, on average, 49.

Porsche says the buyers for the Cayman will be younger than the Boxster.

They have to be more gullible to swallow the fact that a car that should be cheaper to manufacture will cost more than one that's more expensive to manufacture!

[&o]Hence I have a hunch that the cheaper more basic Cayman will have to run more than a 2.7L engine to justify the price hike over a base 987 .... I can't wait to hear what b***sh*t the youngsters will be given by Porsche Cars to explain the reason why a tin top will cost so much more than the roadster its based on [:-]

42................I'm only 25.

I'll have to get myself on a meeting with you guys. 25 but look about 15[:)]

They'll pitch the pricing at the point where they think they can sell it.
I expect it will sell in hard core S guise, but the standard one may struggle unless it is much cheaper.

The issue ultimately is that the market will decide whether the pricing is right. If it is pitched too high you will get the initial rush of buyers for the new model, but then sales will tale off and the depreciation may be quite high.

We'll see whether the performance advantage is enough to make people pay.

In the USA market we start them out young. On the wrong side of course.
