awful OPC's - more cayenne problems

dear all, apologies as readers of my posts will realise my porsche experience has not been a good one [] ..

i moved to the cambridge area in 2007, as such porsche cambridge is now my nearest OPC .. i had previously used porsche colchester, hatfield and silverstone (where the car 'Mr.P' was bought from) ..

my sales experience at silverstone was fantastic .. i even got the porsche sandpit set thrown in amongst other things ! ..

encounters at porsche cambridge have been exceptionally bad ! ..
it took them 3 attempts to rectify a fogging instrument cluster only to be told that they did not have the expertise to reprogramme the mileage correctly, they then thought that a letter detailing that the mileage was out by 2 thousand would be acceptable .. and all this took 3 months to sort out ! .. their fix in the end [for the fogging] - put a drop of glue to cover the small hole in the glass dial covering .. quality repair eh ! .. thanks .. [for the mileage] - phone up germany - arthur daley would have done a better job.

as for any bodywork to be done at porsche cambridge under warranty .. well the bodyshop manager had already made his mind up upon me describing the paintwork to him and before he had even seen the car .. this resulted in porsche gb getting involved and exceptional help from porsche silverstone - it has been repaired there now ! - porsche cambridge refused to carry out the work and get involved .. thanks again ..

when my boot struts failed due to early fatigue .. they were replaced by porsche cambridge but upon collecting my vehicle they had broken the rear roof light panel, i took photos as the damage was so bad .. they actually handed the car over in this state as complete ! .. i wrote to paul sames at porsche cambridge and sent photos - no reply received after about 2 weeks .. once more well done ..

as a porsche owner and frequent OPC visitor, i can recommend porsche silverstone, worth the extra drive, especially when your pride and joy is involved .. they are not afraid to give you a good deal either ! - speak with chris [aftersales manager] ..

avoid porsche cambridge, ive also heard from others about problems with this OPC.

Porsche Cambridge has always had a good reputation, with me and others very satisified with the service they have given, sorry you have found things different.

for basic service maybe ..

ask for quality repairs and expertise then im afraid not ..
considering their approach to my problems, if they were yours or anyone elses then i think your view would change ..
i dont think damaging your porsche and not replying to complaints is anything worth praising, do you ? ..
thank god for silverstones approach ..

Well MrP concur with your experience and agree entirely, they are pompous in their approach, think that they are doing you a favour by allowing you in their showroom, they definately don't listen to customer complaints and dont deal with repairs properly.

Had mine back on more than one occasion for the same fault and only my persistance ensured that the job was done properly, all they did was try to fob me off & treat me like I knew nothing..little did they know!

There great when your buying and they are selling but...after 2 months of ownership and only a few miles I decided to sell.....they offered me 9k less than I paid for it... damn stealers! needless to say I decided to hang on to it and in fairness its been useful, but its still an ugly truck.

I'd add OPC Chester to that! I've praised them in the recent past for excellent service and generally having a great front of house team in the service area - Something's changed though and having taken my car back in for a previously reported fault they denied all knowledge and gave me the car back 3 days later having done nothing but charge me to top up the air con. Correction; it appears they dragged a dirty cloth over some areas of the car before returning it!

It seems like the service management team might have been trained by Merc. Anyone experienced the recent change?

Can i put a positive pointer towards Leicester OPC,they are freindly, keen and most importantly they are enthusiasts... i have used them for parts.service and sales and i cannot rate them highly enough, great bunch, they fixed a couple of glitches on my 06 Cayenne "S" and it drives better than ever, one was coils the other something to do with gear selection, both diagnosed, resolved really quick, well worth a look if you are relatively local.Best main dealer experience ever for me.
