Axle stands

Someone must have done this.....with spring nearly here I've decided to get the wheels on my S2 refurbed. My local and trusted tyre supplier can send them off to Pristine in MK, but gets the best price if they're all done as a batch, which is reasonable and should avoid any colour match problems.
So, I'll need to get the car up on 4 axle stands for a week. Where's the best place to put the stands.....under the workshop hoist/jack points shown in the handbook?

I always use the box section at the front and the casting that you can see the end of the torsion bar.

I jack the front with the wishbone mount (rear one with the tab sticking out.

I jack the rear at the bottom of the struts.

Don't use the lifting points unless you have 6" rubber pads on your stands and can lift the whole car evenly.

Try borrowing a set of wheels from someone to use whilst car is parked up. If not parked on road then they don't have to be road-legal tyres.

Cheers,

Thanks.....good to hear what people have found works OK.

Next weekend's job is to sort the hatch release. The crank on the motor-that-pulls-the-cable-that-pulls-the-cam-that-moves-the-rods-that-operate-the-locking-jaws is broken again. Ah well at least the part's not expensive, but why so complicated?!!!.

I have always jacked and supported on the only parts designed to take the weight...the wishbones
