Baby / Child Seats

Hi Shane,

Just a number of things to consider,

If your child is over 9 months, then some of my info may be of help, as that is the problem I had to solve.

I am also assuming that you are thinking rear seat, rather than front seat.

I have recently overcome this problem, but it involved firstly having the seatbelt in the rear seat changed by Quickfit Safetybelt Services in Stanmore 0208 204 0200. This is tidy, so no problems there. The cost was around 150.

Another alternative is to go to Porsche, and have an extended seatbelt fitted, but this is more expensive, I think around 190'ish.

As it happened, I was looking at buying a Porsche babyseat, but my Mamas and Papas child seat also managed to fit in the rear seat. Again Quickfit can tell you which one works. I will check which model of seat I have and can let you know if you want.

Hope this helps,

Vincent

I've been down this path once before...but still have not managed to buy the seat. A must buy in the next month or my little lad will not be allowed in the car.

Many other 911 owners recommended the Britax Freeway for the back seat. Unforunately its not stocked in Ireland

Vincent, have you got the model of the M&P seat (my fav kids store)?

Ta,
Sean

Sean and Vincent - many thanks for the info.

Vincent, if you could check which model of seat you have and let Sean and I know it would be much appreciated. It looks as though I might be heading to Stanmore in the New Year !

Cheers,

Hi Shane,
Sorry about the delay in replying.

I think the M&P seat is the sicura, but again, please have a chat with Quickfit, as they regularly do this and know of other seat makes that fit the back of a 993.

Hope this is of some help,

Vincent

Guys,

Sorry if this thread is now irrelevant but can I chime in?

The crew at Stanmore a great....make an appointment with tem so you get their undivided attention and expertise.
That the time to review all of the seats they have with them and let them try fit which ones they advise.

We have purchased three seats from them and each time we have had great service.

The seats themselves have also been a great success to by the way. Our two year old has always been a happy traveller, which means he is comfortable.

No seat yet for the 911 as I do not have rear belts, bu one of the seats does fit in the front seat of the car and could be used should the need arise.

Waiting for the Britax catalogue to arrive so that I have a vague idea of what they will be talking about when we get to Stanmore.

Thanks for the appointment tip Michel.

Vauxhall Corsa and Porsche 911 - I'm sure there is something to fit them both !
