Baby seat / seatbelts for '85 944 Lux?

Guest

New member
I'm sure this is a common request, but can anyone recommend options for -
1. adding seatbelts in the rear
2. adding a babyseat (suitable for newborn, rear-facing)

to an '85 944 Lux? suggestions on sourcing above parts gratefully recieved - in time for a mid-April arrival!

many thanks

If you have the mounts I can sell you the belts from the back of my '90 Turbo as the seat will be out whenever I get a chance.

Clearly since I don't need a back seat I'm not the best to ask about baby seats...

Sorry Mark, I've never used a child seat in mine. I think it would be difficult to get a rear facing one in the back (and when my two were little I thought the current advice was not to put a rear facing in the back for safety reasons, removal etc).
I am sure any seat will fit in the front.

There is a seatbelt specialist company that regularly advertises in Porsche Post and other Porsche mags but I've just flicked through a few and can't blummin' find any of them - arrrgggh!

Fen,

If no one else has nabbed them, I'd be interested in the rear seatbelt buckles from your car (assuming they're in good nick) to replace damaged ones in mine. Let me know if they are still available...

Cheers,

Jim.

Sorry, I missed this somehow - sure, you can have them (I think there's nothing wrong with them).

I'll check this weekend and get back to you.

To be honest I haven't examined them, but I'm sure they are fine - I would have noticed before now if they were damaged. I'll take them out tomorrow - I've been really bad at following though things I've said I'll do recently and I'll try to catch up tomorrow with all of them. It's just the bits on the seat squab you want?

No worries - I know what it's like [8|]

Yes, as per the picture a couple or three posts up. Both of them, if that's not too greedy. Thanks a lot. I'll email you my address...

Jim.

Fen,

Package arrived today - some toerag had opened it and it had an "offically secured" sticker holding it closed!!! The diamond encrusted Rolex was obviously gone [:(] but the other stuff was still in there. Sould I claim compensation from the Royal Mail?

Anyway, thanks again, you're a star!!!

Jim.

I had a feeling afterwards I shouldn't have written "really, really high value contents being sent 2nd class" on the envelope.

Glad you got them OK. I wonder if anyone got a jiffy full of 100 shiny bits of glass today?

Thanks all for the suggestions - as I suspected, no easy answer. We've had to opt for a company car instead! (but still keeping the 944 though). cheer

Yep it was waiting for me on the doormat when I got home last night [:D] Thanks Fen.

I wish I'd fitted it in the dark last night [8|] as I could gave done with a defroster this morning - brrrr

All in one piece? The chip isn't too bad then?

Bristol got a lot of snow yesterday afternoon. My mirrors work [:D]. 265 tyres, regardless of how new (2 weeks old in my case) are quite terrifying in snow...

No the chip was fine, much less than I imagined, I probably won't be able to see it when it's on the car.

Northampton had a light dusting, but flipping cold [] 3mm 245's had no problem [:)]
