Baby seats that fit a 993

Not this one again!!! Just to let you family people out there know that I have successfully found a child seat that fits in the back of a 993. After recommendations from both this site and Piston Heads I spent last week end trying to get a suitable child seat for the back of my 993 which will do 0-4yrs or 12month - 4 years. I was quite surprised to find that not one of the seats advised fit correctly. I think people have to be very careful about terms like "fitted mine perfectly" the trained staff dismissed every seat as not suitable so again beware of peoples diffrent perspective of correct fittings!! However I bought a CONCORD Ultimax from mothercare just before christmas for my day to day car and thought i'd try that for size. Amazingly it fitted perfectly with the only strange thing being you have to plug the seat belt into the unit in the seat adjacent. I drove to Mothercare this week end and got a member of staff to check the installation which she thought was perfect. The only cause for any concern was that the red release button was bending towards the bump that seperates the 2 seats but is well clear and she mentioned to ensure we dont stuff a toy or anything like that under neath it which may catch on the release button. The plus side to this is that childrens wandering fingers cant release the seat!! Obviously I am not including the Porsche recommended seats in this. But be aware, I'd always seek acceptance by some one who is trained on the installation of seats and not go by the say so of some one who's trying to flog one, secondly this option of a new seat gives you peace of mind that the seat has not had any impacts in its life time. ps this is not an attack on any member who has found a diffrent seat to be suitable for them selves! Bye the way the seat is a 0-4yrs, so now I can keep my pride and joy and spend many a day out in it as a family now.

I'll try to get some this week, if not definately by the weekend and I'll put them on Monday if not before.

A rearward facing seat in the back "¦.. that's a tricky manoeuvre. The front seat passenger must be a bit squished!

I'm not quite so bothered about using the seat in the Porsche when its new born as I think it has to be rear facing for first 9-12 months.(Floppy neck thingy!!) I wanted a 0-4 yr seat so I can use it as new born in my day to day car and once old enough I can share the seat between my day to day and my porsche. I think the seat can actually be used forward facing for a new born as the chair can be reclined back, so I'd need to check that with the ladies at MCare

Just checked MCare web site and it is rear facing until 9 months old ish, so back seat would be out, but would probably fit in the front. Like I said on my last post not a requirement for my self in new born but others may want to check it fits in the front seat ok after getting the air bag turned off. I'm just over the moon that I've found one that will last in the Porsche up until 4 so I dont have to sell the thing!!!! (Thats the car !!)

Sorry for the delay but here are a few picks of the seat in situ. Woops! how do you attach the photo's any help please.

Im surprised! it obviously worked, dont know how to do more than one at a time so heres another.
