Baby WUF up for sale now as well !

After 11 years of ownership of "˜Baby WUF' I have decided to sell as I need the garage space as a workshop.

I've got major building works going on at the house so I'm taking the opportunity to clear the garage so the builders can use it temporarily as storage/workshop before I move on to my next project.

Having sold WUF to Ben last year, I haven't had the chance to use Baby WUF as most of my travel is currently spent in my Range Rover at race circuits supporting and photographing customer cars at race series. The race season is now getting underway, taking up most weekends, so I won't have much time now to attend the 944 social events or get out in Baby WUF just for enjoyment! It would such a shame to let the car just sit so I've finally decided that it is the time to sell so someone else can get the benefits with the Porsche social season just about to start.

Just before I sold WUF in June last year I had both the 944's fully checked over, serviced and MOT'd by Andy Duncan at 944 Specialists NineX motorsport in Maidenhead http://www.ninexmotorsport.co.uk/ . Andy is a well-known 944 racer in the Porsche club series and also looks after a number of 944/968/911 race cars as well as having fully equipped workshops with the latest diagnostic equipment.

I then did only approximately 600 miles last year before storing the car in the garage on SORN for the winter period. Baby WUF never even saw the snow, ice and road salt!!

Most of you will have seen the car at numerous PCGB gatherings over the years. It is a 1987 944S 2.5L 16v in beautiful guards red with black cloth pinstripe interior, sensibly modified and all fully working ! This has been an extremely reliable and economical to run car that I have enjoyed tremendously over the last 11 years and I will sadly miss it! The fuel economy has always been excellent and cheap insurance is available making this a perfect first Porsche or second or weekend car..

There is a comprehensive description and picture portfolio to download from this link in a 6Mb PDF file HERE

I also have a number of ebay auctions running for a lot of 944 related spare parts that I've accumulated over the years and am now selling as I will no longer have a use for them. Search ebay item #180648824067 then use the "˜see other items' link.

I will still try to attend as many of the gatherings as I can and will probably return to 944 ownership eventually !

Rick, apologies for the minor thread hijack but as a fellow owner of an S I have a couple of queries. Yyou mention sensible mods. I see from the pdf that you are running the blitz chip and a cone filter, do you find they make much difference and were you able to compare the blitz with the Promax ecu? Do you find any cooling issues using the cone filter ? Lastly I would love to know where you sourced the ESS backbox from. I have always liked the look of twin round pipes [:D]

Best of luck with the sale, she looks a beauty.

Howard, The blitz chip did make a difference but the cone filter only really makes an aural difference - a much deeper intake roar under hard acceleration. I've never tried any of the Promax mods but you can always look at the old dyno charte on my website to see cars that probably have HERE

The ESS rear section came from Simon at Essential Styling. I think you may be able to find them HERE now.

I've just insured baby up until the end of April. I was hoping the cover note would arrive on saturday morning so I could put on the years tax and then take a drive down the the club AGM on Sunday, however sods law prevailed and no cover note yet ...

I'm going to put a brand new MOT on as well so the lucky new owner will get a full year's tax and MOT so nothing needed to be spent (except fuel) for at least a year.

Saw baby WUF in the flesh the other day. I thought when I first saw the add that Rick was being rather optimistic but if you're in the market for an S you must take a look. It really is one of those cars that needs to be seen for the price to make sense.

Regards,

Ben

An update !

Took Baby WUF in for an MOT today so the car now has 12 Months MOT and 12 Months TAX. I'm looking for about £3,750. I thought I'd offer here first before going to the wider world.

Best of luck with your sale Rick!If you hear of anyone wanting a turbo track day/race car send them over to me!?!![:D]

Back on topic!

Went for a nice drive earlier. Perfect weather for roof out. Ipod blasting. Having second thoughts about selling but must be strong!

After a day out in the Rangie yesterday the difference is I can get a 60" 3D tv in rangie but my dad would have had to settle for a 42" if we had been in the 944.... Now a Panzamera turbo, on the other hand.....
