Back ache from 993 seat!

Hi

I have a 993 C4 Cab which i have owned since 2004. Use it daily 40 mile round trip to work. However I have recently started to get back ache and hip pain, and wonder if it could be due to the offset pedals / driving position. I was wondering if anyone else gets this problem, and if anyone has changed the seat in their car to resolve this?

Im approaching im late 30s so may just be getting old and worn myself ;)

thanks

Sanjay

If you have a fat wallet take it out of your hip pocket - it won't help alignment of your back.

Make sure as much of your back as possible is leaning up against the backrest to help support it - don't lean forward, lean back.

Like our fearless leader I have a GT3 seat on the driver's side and find it more comfortable than the standard seat.

I can't see why, after 5 years of daily driving, the seats would suddenly start to give you grief. Have they been adjusted recently? It takes me a long time to get them back to the right position after mine are adjusted.

I've got to ask the obvious question ... have you lifted anything heavy recently? Or are you suffering from stress?

I have a 993 and also have considrably more rings on the trunk than you. I've just moved the driver's seat back on the mounting - only 1.5-2cm - and am waiting to see the difference.
Although mine's a tiptronic, after many years driving c. 40k per annum at work, the seat height/tilt is as important as length. My left hip is worse than the other, possibly due to stress getting in and out of cars awkwardly. Good luck!
