My rusty sills are no more! Picked the S2 up from Daytona Coachworx in Stevenage today and it looks great. I'm very pleased ideed with the work that Dave and Gordon have carried out and can highly recommend them.

The car was suffering from the usual S2 foibles of rusty sills and wheelarches. Both sides and front and rear arches were all bubbling away. A good amount of metal was cut away and replaced with as much new metal as possible.

Hard to see in the pics but the car has been properly done with Wurth SKS (inside the arches too) and has been Waxoyled also, so should look good for some time to come. Got to fit the black sill trims (tomorrow, weather allowing) and can start to enjoy driving the car around again instead of worrying about the nasty rusty sills!

Looking good Justin [8D]

Must be a weight off your mind now that its been done, it's something we will probably all have to go through. How long was the car off the road?

Is very pleasing to have the car back. The work was done over about three weeks, I think, although I dropped the car off there a month or so before that as it was convienient, and I really wasn't in a rush.

These black trims a a PITA though, as the fittings that bolted them to the body are all corroded to buggery and I can't find anything else to thread onto the fixings. Grrr!

Justin.

Personally I would consider leaving them off as it is those very same trims that have promoted the corrosion in the first place, having acted as a mud and moisture trap for umpteen years [&:]

Until you mentioned you hadn't refitted them I didn't notice from your pics that they weren't there

I know what you mean Paul, but now I know that it is an issue it's not hard to take them off and give it a good clean every so often...I just need to get some of the plastic nuts that the trims fix onto the body with from an OPC and I think I'll be able to re-fit them.

Justin.

Justin it looks like a good job done although I wouldnt fit the trims back on personally[8|]
At least you know the sills are sorted now.
